RNW to increase cooperation with NOS
Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW) and Dutch domestic public broadcaster NOS are to work more closely together. From the start of the new broadcasting season on Sunday 28 March 2010, all RNW Dutch transmissions will begin with a news bulletin from NOS, followed by the RNW current affairs programme 'Nieuwslijn' with content tailored to Dutch emigrants, expats and holidaymakers.

RNW considers it important to work with other Dutch and overseas media organisations, creating more space for the production of content directed at specific target groups. For Dutch language activities, NOS is a logical partner. For the nine other languages RNW will strengthen and increase cooperation with some of its overseas partners, consisting of about 3000 media organisations.

The editorial teams of NOS and RNW already work closely together and intensively share news material. Hans Laroes, Editor-in-Chief of NOS News, says "Naturally it's wonderful that NOS News will be broadcast literally worldwide. Above all, it's excellent that we can make use of each other's qualities in this way and do what we're both best at."

Through this cooperation with NOS, the international expertise of RNW will become more accessible within the Netherlands. RNW Editor-in-Chief Rick Rensen says: "For example, NOS will make use of our Caribbean section for the elections in Surinam in May. Other productions, such as our exclusive interviews with Latin American leaders are available for their use, and they can, for example, consult our Arabic or Chinese editorial teams even more frequently."
